THIS IS WATER - By David Foster Wallace from The Glossary on Vimeo.

In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the resulting speech didn’t become widely known until 3 years later, after his tragic death. It is, without a doubt, some of the best life advice we’ve ever come across, and perhaps the most simple and elegant explanation of the real value of education.

We made this video, built around an abridged version of the original audio recording, with the hopes that the core message of the speech could reach a wider audience who might not have otherwise been interested.

The Anatomy Of Owen Wright from Indoek on Vimeo.

Owen Wright is a herculean figure in a sea of short, scrawny professional surfers. His tall, muscular build breaks the mold of the stereotypical surf stature. In this anatomical study of his physique, we highlight his enormous presence compared to his pro surfing peers as well as other professional athletes.

Welded x Vans - Matthias Dandois “Dust” from Welded Studio on Vimeo.

For the launch of Welded Studio, we are introducing creative series inspired by bmx.

Vans becomes our Partner for the production of four video / photo series that stage bmx riders in an original manner or with unexpected objects.

We are honoured to feature in this collaboration first opus, named « Dust », Mr. Matthias Dandois who played the game. And, with his legendary smile as a cherry on top of the cake, he truly played the game with Thibault Grevet (video) and Vincent Perraud (photo).

The Art of Steadicam from Refocused Media on Vimeo.

Invented by Garrett Brown in the early 70’s, the steadicam shot — or ‘steadishot’ — has become one of the most dynamic and exciting forms of cinematography and is one of the most engaging visual techniques in a filmmaker’s storytelling arsenal.

I was inspired to make this homage to the art of steadicam cinematography when browsing the database of “top” clips over at steadishots.org, which are rated by the community. After locating what sources I could from the top 50 or so, I decided to stick with the order presented on the site (accurate as of March 1, 2013).

While I do hope you enjoy my video, there are many other clips that I was not able to source as well as many great clips that have yet to be rated into the “top” ranks, so please head over to steadishots.org and show your appreciation for the great service they provide.
